Campus colleagues,
I’m excited to share that TAEC’s pilot of Momentum Sessions will continue this spring term! As you meet with students, please share if you believe that they would benefit from peer led groups focused on being a student and exploring strategies for success! Here are some points that you can share with students and a sign-up link (and YES – we are open and accepting sign-ups!). Some changes:
- Sessions start Week 2!
- Seats are increased to 10 per group.
- Signups will stay open through the end of Week 3
In each Momentum Session:
- Connect with peers
- Have dedicated time to work on your tasks
- Practice and learn impactful study habits
Sign-ups are open NOW and close April 18th, with the actual Momentum Sessions beginning Week 2.
Available sessions are hosted in the TAEC space in Knight Library.
If you want the direct link to the registration form to share with students:

Perhaps students are wondering what they may get out this! I think these three pieces of feedback help shed light on what the impact of participating can be:
- These momentum sessions helped with making me accountable for applying methods we learned to our college lives. For example, we talked about using concept maps, as a way to help with studying. This method really helped me understand material from my classes because I could visually see each unit and its sub-category.
- I feel as though the momentum sessions really helped me push myself to actually commit to the goals I planned to achieve. It really kept me on top of things. For example, before registering for classes, my momentum leader asked us what our goals were and I said that it was to meet with an advisor in order to get my class schedule for spring term figured out. Eventually I did and I thing that push and reminder from our leader truly helped to manage my time wisely and set my priorities straight.
- I think that the sessions helped me be more motivated and want to get my work done more than if I had not gone. I wanted to get better at not procrastinating and motivation, and I think the momentum sessions helped.
Thank you for supporting this new initiative and my apologies for getting this set and running out the door for some relaxation! 😅
